Hello to All,

First, let me thank you for inviting me to visit Dewey Elementary this past Friday. I had a lovely visit and was very glad to see the excellent steps you have taken so far to encourage your students to write. Having a writer's notebook for each writer is important; it was clear that your students transformed into a more "writerly" frame of mind, just by taking out their notebooks and setting up to write. I loved seeing their seriousness while employed in the task of writing, and I very much enjoyed their stories. I'm looking forward to speaking with you online and via Polycom, as well as being kept informed about the directions your students go in their writing.

It is a very blustery day here and imagine it is much the same or even colder in Chillicothe. Take Care, and I'll post again soon.

Debbie
